         Frauen und Kindern einzusetzen. Ein weiteres wichtiges Anliegen der Arbeit v
         on KARO e.V ist der Aufbau und die Unterstützung von Projekten, welche den 
         Schutz, die Unterstützung sowie psychologische, medizinische und soziale Be
         ratung von Frauen, Jugendlichen und Kindern zum Inhalt haben, die von physis
         cher, psychischer oder sexueller Gewalt betroffen oder bedroht sind bzw. war
         en. Zudem setzen wir uns gegen rassistisch, religiös und sexistisch motivie
         rte Diskriminierung ein und engagieren uns für die Verwirklichung der Mensc
         hen- und Kinderrechte, sowie für die Stärkung der Rechte von Opfern psychi
         scher, physischer und sexueller Gewalt.

Zu unseren Aufgaben gehören des 
         Weiteren neben Beratung, Betreuung, Begleitung und weiterführenden Hilfen f
         ür Opfer von Zwangsprostitution und Menschenhandel auch diesbezügliche Hil
         festellungen für Prostituierte aller Nationalitäten, die in den deutsch- t
         schechischen Grenzregionen in Straßenstrichbereichen und bordellähnlichen 
         Einrichtungen arbeiten. Im Vordergrund des Interesses steht hierbei die Hilf
         estellung beim Ausstieg aus der Szene und bei der Wiedereingliederung bzw. R
         ückführung der Opfer in sichere soziale Strukturen ihrer Herkunftsländer.
          
Eine besondere Herausforderung ist derzeit die Erhaltung und Verwaltung u
         nseres 2008 eröffneten  Frauen- und Kinderschutzhauses mit integrierter Bab
         yklappe  sowie die Sicherstellung eines rund um die Uhr erreichbaren Notruf-
          und Beratungsdienstes für Frauen, Jugendliche und Kinder die von psychisch
         er, physischer und sexueller Gewalt betroffen bzw. bedroht sind oder waren.

         A further focus of KARO e.V.’s work is to establish and support projects o
         ffering support and psychological, medical and social counselling to women, 
         teenagers and children who are/have been exposed to violence or the threat o
         f violence. We also campaign against racist, religious and gender-based disc
         rimination, and fight to assert human and children’s rights as well as str
         iving to strengthen the rights of victims of mental, physical and sexual vio

In addition to counselling, support and accompaniment services, a
         nd further to the help we offer persons affected by forced prostitution and 
         trafficking in human beings, we also offer assistance to prostitutes from al
         l countries who work in the street prostitution sector, and in brothels or s
         imilar types of establishment near the German-Czech border. Our main goal is
          to help victims to exit prostitution and reintegrate or resettle in safe so
         cial structures in their home country. One of our main challenges is to guar
         antee the availability of and manage the safe house for women and children t
         hat we opened in 2008, and which includes a baby hatch; and to ensure 24/7 a
         ccessibility to our distress and counselling service for women, teenagers an
         d children who are/have been exposed to violence or the threat of violence. 
         

We also cooperate and network with authorities, institutions and other s
         tate or non-state organisations at national and international level. Through
          our work, we aim in particular to combat social grievances in the organisat
         ion’s field of work, and take appropriate action to protect abused women, 
         teenagers and children and to empower them to lead an independent life from 
         both a personal and economical perspective.
